Bold MLB Predictions for Second-Half

Offense Backs Up the Pitching, As Bombers Defeat Jays 8-4

You knew exactly what to expect out of Mitre tonight. He wasnโ€™t very good, as he gave up 8 hits and 3 runs through 4.1 innings of work. His line looked like: 4.1IP 8H 3R 3ER 2BB 3K. His ERA right now is 7.50. I donโ€™t understand how Cashman can throw this guy out there. I honestly rather have the buck toothed Igawa. I never thought I would say that.

Aceves, Coke, Hughes & Robertson all came on in relief after Mitre exited the game. They combined for: 4.2IP 3H 1R 1ER 9BB 8K. The bullpen was pretty damn good tonight. Thatโ€™s exactly what you want to see when your starting pitcher struggles.

Rzepczynski kept the Yankees in check up until the 7th inning. He gave up two runs in the 3rd inning, but settled down after that. Swisher lead off the 7th with a home run. Cano doubled right after that. They pulled Rzepczynski and Cano wound up scoring. Two more runs crossed the plate that inning, and the Yankees took a 6-3 lead. Johnny Damon hit a solo HR in the top of the 9th inning, as the Yanks took a 8-4 lead. That wound up being the final score.

Johnny Damon went 3-for-5 on the game, with a run and 3RBIโ€™s. Nick Swisher went 2-for-5, with a runย  & an RBI. Robbie Cano collected 2 hits tonight, and picked up 2 runs.

The Red Sox lost tonight, and now with this latest Yankee win, the Red Sox move 2.5GB out of 1st place in the AL East. Thatโ€™s nice to hear going into tomorrowโ€™s series.
