Manchester United Transfer News: Adnan Januzaj's PSG Rumours Make Little Sense

French giants Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in a loan deal for Manchester United's Adnan Januzaj this January, but out of all possible scenarios for the Belgium international, a temporary move to the French capital perhaps makes the least sense of all.

According to the Daily Mail's Simon Jones, PSG will make another move for the 19-year-old after seeing a transfer bid rejected during the summer, with manager Laurent Blanc still keen to bring the youngster to Paris.

Le Parisien and L'Equipe have also been talking about a potential swoop for Januzaj, according to Bleacher Report's French football expert Jonathan Johnson:

The speedy trickster was one of the biggest revelations of the 2013-14 Premier League season, quickly establishing himself as one of the best young talents in the league with a series of impressive performances.

His breakout campaign earned him a spot in Belgium's World Cup squad, and big things were expected in 2014-15. But under new manager Louis van Gaal, Januzaj has hardly featured and he has only made four league starts all year, via WhoScored.com.

It's not that Van Gaal doesn't rate the teenager—the Dutch manager has been adamant Januzaj is not going anywhere, via Goal's official Twitter feed.

But Januzaj needs time and, more importantly, minutes. And with United chasing the Premier League title and Van Gaal opting to field more experienced players, he won't find them in Manchester.

The question is, why would things be any different with Les Parisiens? Like the Red Devils, PSG are chasing a domestic title, and Blanc has plenty of talent in the wide areas at his disposal.

Is he going to favour Januzaj over Javier Pastore, Edinson Cavani, Lucas Moura or Ezequiel Lavezzi? Of course not.

Top clubs generally complete loan deals for two reasons: Either to address a key area that has been decimated by injuries, or try and whet the appetite of the player in question ahead of a permanent move. If Januzaj comes to realise his future may be better served in France, he could ask for a transfer during the summer.

Don't get me wrong—Januzaj's best bet in January would be a loan move, and as shared by The Peoples Person, there are some signs the club agrees:

But there are hundreds of mid-table sides across Europe who could use his services, will be willing to aid his development and who won't pose a threat at the end of the season.

According to AS, the man who launched his senior career with Manchester wants to bring the youngster to Real Sociedad, for instance:

Six months under David Moyes in the Basque Country would make sense for Januzaj, where he could fill the hole left by Antoine Griezmann the day he moved to Atletico Madrid. He could hone his game in Spain's La Liga and return to the Premier League an older, better player.

The same period in the French capital won't have nearly the same impact, as Januzaj would spend most of his time on the bench, as is the case with United. But PSG want the youngster on a permanent basis—they made this known when they tried to purchase him in the summer.

There's no good reason to loan Januzaj to PSG, and there's no reason to risk the youngster falling in love with the French champions, either. As Johnson alluded to with his tweet: This move is highly unlikely.
