Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Orlando Magic: Live Score, Highlights and Reaction
LeBron James scored 15 of his 29 points in the fourth quarter, Kevin Love added 22 and the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Orlando Magic, 98-89, Friday night at the Amway Center.
The Cavaliers played this game without Kyrie Irving, who sat out with a knee contusion.
James started out 5-for-12, but came to life down the stretch, going 5-for-8 in the final period.
Love kept Cleveland in the contest early, scoring 13 points in the first quarter. However, he missed 10 of his last 12 shots and did not play the entire fourth.
Thanks to LeBron, it didn't matter.
Dion Waiters played a significant role in the victory, as well, chipping in 17 points off the bench. Tristan Thompson posted nine points and 13 rebounds.
The Cavs used superb free-throw shooting (24-for-26) to overcome their poor shooting performance. They shot only 41 percent from the floor and made only eight of their 30 attempts from three-point range.
The Magic shot the ball very well, hitting on 49 percent of their field-goal tries and going 9-of-21 from beyond the arc, but a lack of free-throw attempts (12) and 17 turnovers ended up soiling their chances for the upset.
The Cavaliers have now won nine straight games against Orlando. James himself has won his last 10 meetings with the Magic dating back to his time with the Miami Heat.
The Magic actually led by as much as 10 in the contest, but it was short-lived second-quarter advantage.
Tobias Harris led Orlando with 16 points.
