Chelsea Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Sergio Busquets and Fernando Torres
Chelsea have been named as one of the Premier League clubs thought to be chasing the signature of Barcelona stalwart Sergio Busquets. Meanwhile, rumours of yet another Fernando Torres move intensify.
It's difficult to see just where Jose Mourinho would need to strengthen his squad in 2015, but the Portuguese may be alerted by reports that Busquets is keeping his options open next summer, per Anthony Chapman of the Express.

Any move would see Chelsea in a fight to contend with the interests of Europe's titans, with Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Arsenal mentioned as just some of the teams also keeping an eye on the Spaniard.
Mourinho already has a star in the same mould as Busquets with Nemanja Matic currently starring at Stamford Bridge, but Spanish writer Sergi Dominguez claims that Busquets is a superior asset:
Having Busquets among his ranks for the 2015-16 campaign would further enhance Mourinho's world-class team, and there are few who would suggest the Blues don't have the financial means at least to cut a deal.
It's for that reason that the main sticking point would be Busquets' own priorities and whether or not he'd be interested in a move away from the club he's grown up with (he made his rise to the first-team fore in 2008).

Jason Pettigrove recently argued for Metro about to whether or not the 26-year-old would ever truly consider a Camp Nou exit, determining that a "no smoke without fire" attitude may mean all is not well in Catalonia.
Should his allegiances waver next year, Chelsea are sure to be considered a heavy contender to capitalise on his potential availability.

In the Stamford Bridge exit column, Fernando Torres' ongoing struggles at Milan have resulted in an increase in speculation that the striker could leave for Liverpool or Atletico Madrid this winter.
Speaking with Bleacher Report's Ryan Bailey recently, ex-United States international Janusz Michallik identified goalscoring as an area the Reds squad needs to address this January:
According to Fichajes.net (h/t Metro's Jamie Sanderson), Brendan Rodgers is chasing a Premier League return for the former red, who is only several months into a two-year loan at the San Siro.
Mario Balotelli has failed to inspire Rodgers' side since completing a £16 million move from Milan, while Match of the Day's Gary Lineker notes the move for an out-of-form Torres makes little sense:
Many predicted a move to Serie A may have reignited the 30-year-old's scoring form, but Torres has managed just one goal in 10 league appearances for the Rossoneri.
Atleti are another of the Spaniard's former clubs interested in cutting a deal, however, with assistant coach German Burgos quoted by Spanish radio station Cope (h/t Football Italia) as saying:
“A return for Torres? I don’t want to create misunderstandings, I’m just stating my opinion, but it would be wonderful.”
Burgos covers his tracks by stating it's only his view, but Los Rojiblancos have continuously been linked to a reunion with their ex-scoring sensation, and a return to his native Madrid may be seen as the best option in Torres' eyes.
