The Sounders shared the following tribute video dedicated to Yedlin following the news, via their official site:
Yedlin originally signed for the White Hart Lane club in August, but he was unable to join right away due to the aforementioned permit issues. He set the north London club back $4 million, 75 percent of which goes to the Seattle Sounders due to his status as a homegrown player.

Alex Richards of the Daily Mirror believes it is the right time for Yedlin to make the transition:
Yedlin previously confirmed he knows a battle for a first-team place awaits at Spurs, as reported by the MLS' official website (h/t Harry West of Goal.com): "It's going to take me time to adjust. I'm not expecting to go in right away first day and start."
The player's explosive running skills are highlighted below:
The 21-year-old attacking right-back made 29 appearances for the Sounders last season, providing two assists, per WhoScored.com. He can also play further up the flank and is best known for limiting Cristiano Ronaldo's influence during the USA's 2-2 draw with Portugal at the 2014 World Cup.
Yedlin joins an exciting mix of emerging youngsters and established talent at Spurs, who currently stand seventh in the Premier League.
