Peyton Manning, Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders Post-Week 16 Fantasy Reaction

Tim KeeneyDec 22, 2014

Unfortunately for fantasy owners, Peyton Manning has gotten a little too much into the giving spirit this holiday season.

The future Hall of Famer threw four interceptions against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night, finishing with a mediocre performance in one of the most important weeks of the season:

Manning is in a serious funk right now. He has three touchdowns and six interceptions in his past three games, and as the NFL on ESPN Twitter account pointed out, he is out-Eli-ing his younger brother right now:

According to Joe Reedy of Fox Sports Ohio, Manning hasn't had a four interception game in quite some time:

Still, even when he's been at his worst, Peyton hasn't been completely crippling. He was efficient last week against the San Diego Chargers, and he was having a solid fantasy day against the Bengals before tossing three fourth-quarter interceptions in the pouring rain.

Even with his recent struggles, he has to be considered a QB1 against the Oakland Raiders in a game the Broncos need to win to ensure a first-round bye in the playoffs.

As for his top receivers, they haven't really been affected by Manning's struggles. Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders both had big games in Week 16:

There is sometimes a fear that one will take production away from the other, but there is enough volume in this offense to go around. Both players are talented enough to warrant WR1 rankings in the final week of the season.
