Sergey "Krusher" Kovalev has scheduled his next fight as of Monday. The IBF, WBA, and WBO light heavyweight title holder will take on Jean Pascal on March 14 at Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec.

Michael Woods of The Sweet Science reported the news upon its announcement, along with brief comments from the two fighters, who were complimentary of each other:

Sergey Kovalev (26-0-1, 23 KO) vs Jean Pascal (29-2-1, 17 KO). Bout to be televised on HBO, March 14 at Bell Center. Sorry...CENTRE lol

Michael Woods @Woodsy1069

Pascal: "I respect Sergey Kovalev because he is the king of the light heavyweight division."

Kovalev: "Pascal's the best possible opponent I could face in the weight division."

Kovalev was just named Sports Illustrated's Fighter of the Year, per SI.com's Chris Mannix, and his three championship belts are evidence of his prowess.

Without a loss in his professional career, immense force he generates from his punch and, most recently, a unanimous-decision victory over Bernard Hopkins among others, the Russian star is a tough matchup for Pascal.

But this will be a home bout for the underdog Pascal. The 32-year-old veteran hails from the Montreal area and should have plenty of Canadian support behind him as he tries to hand Kovalev his first defeat.
