According to reports in Bild, which had been translated and covered in the Mirror on December 16, young Liverpool sensation Raheem Sterling has been linked with the German giants, as Aaron Flanagan writes:
"Sterling has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid as talks over a new contract at Anfield have hit the rocks.
But now it has been reported that Sterling will be a target for Bayern if they fail to secure their No.1 target—Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus.
The report in Bild suggests Bayern manager Pep Guardiola told his brother Pere, who works as Luis Suarez's agent, to open talks with Sterling.
"
In the Mirror on December 20, former Bayern midfielder Owen Hargreaves spoke about the manner of any potential move, suggesting the England star wouldn't be ready for the German champions.
“I think he should stay at Liverpool for another four years,” said Hargreaves. “It will be good for his development. He is far too young mentally to make that move.”
