Silva Has Ankle Operation in United States

David Anderson of the Daily Mirror reported the Spain international underwent surgery in the US to take advantage of his first summer free of football since 2011.
The former Valencia man's creativity is often key to City's success. While Yaya Toure provides the power and drive, Silva's clever movement and interlinking play threads attacking moves together. He dips into pockets of space, creates room for others and constantly reads the game ahead of his position.

Silva's fitness will be even more important to City manager Manuel Pellegrini in light of James Milner's departure to Liverpool this summer, which lightens his options behind the striker.
The 29-year-old Spaniard made 32 appearances for City in the Premier League last season, scoring 12 times, per Squawka.
Silva suffered a knee injury in a Capital One Cup tie against Newcastle United on October 29 that left him sidelined until mid-December, and his presence was missed.
That injury, coupled with the absences of Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Vincent Kompany, hampered the Sky Blues in 2014-15, as they failed to retain the Premier League title and were eliminated in the last 16 of the Champions League.
