10 Shoes We're Excited for in 2015

Giancarlo Ferrari-KingDec 24, 2014

To say 2014 was a great year for sneakers would be an understatement.

Adidas made a huge leap forward with its silhouettes and styles, Jordan brand re-released some of our all-time favorites and, as per usual, Nike came out and did its thing as well.

Though 2014 was great, with the new year around the corner, it's time to look ahead to 2015.

We've done our homework, checked the release dates and deciphered the rumors to provide all of you 10 shoes we're beyond excited for. Enjoy the list.

Air Jordan IV 'Columbia'

1 of 10

To this day, the Air Jordan IV is still one of the most sought after silhouettes the brand has ever released.

Since its inception in 1989, the Jordan IV has undergone a variety of colorways. The year 2015 brings us one step closer to the original release but in a different kind of way.

Though the colors are completely off, the Air Jordan IV Columbia edition is part of the "Remastered" collection, according to SoleCollector.com's Brandon Richard.

Jordan heads have to be amped about this new way of producing the shoes. The Remastered versions are going to closely resemble the original materials that were used on the original kicks.

If you've ever owned a pair of Jordans, you know that one of the biggest issues has been the lack of super-high-quality materials.

The last time we saw the Columbia IV drop was back in 1999. This new-look version for 2015 should put that shoe to shame based off the materials alone.

Get ready, sneakerheads, because odds are these bad boys are going to sell out in a New York minute.

Kyrie 1 'Deceptive Red'

2 of 10

Earlier this year, Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving became the first Nike athlete to get his own signature shoe since Kevin Durant was blessed with the honor in 2007.

The Kyrie 1 is an amazing shoe, and Nike is releasing it in a variety of ways.

The first colorway, labeled as the "Dream" version, hit shelves on December 23. Meanwhile in the interim, fans were able to use the NikeiD customization platform to develop their own unique patterns.

January 2015 brings with it the "Deceptive Red" version. The high fashion, Christian Louboutin-inspired heel is what makes the shoe glorious. It's the first time an NBA player has incorporated that kind of flare into a basketball sneaker.

Get your wallets ready because the red version is slated to drop worldwide on January 10.

Nike Kobe 9 Elite 'What The'

3 of 10

We've touched on this topic before, but Nike's Kobe 9 Elite model is a shoe you either love or hate. If you love the Elite 9, then chances are you're going be mesmerized by the "What The" edition.

A refreshing, almost tropic-like woven color pattern complements the brash silhouette.

The entire shoe is beautiful, but toward the top is where all of those hues meet to form an amazing-looking trim.

Anyone who has owned a pair of the Kobe 9 Elites understands how comfortable these shoes are. The extra length by the ankle allows for a free-forming fit that brings outstanding benefits to the performance of the shoe.

As SLAM Magazine reported, the shoes are set to touch shelves on January 10. Due to the unique colors and overall quality they come loaded with, these kicks should be an extremely hot commodity.

Air Jordan XX 'Stealth'

4 of 10

The Air Jordan XX is one of the most slept-on models in the history of the brand.

When it dropped in 2005, it brandished a futuristic feel to it. On top of that, the Jordan XX handed lead designer duties back over to Tinker Hatfield—the man responsible for some of the greatest Jordans ever made.

When it was all said and done, the Jordan XX cemented itself in the history books. Comfort, performance, style—it was all there.

With the brand celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2015—and its 10th since the Jordan XX made its debut—you had to figure the company would finally retro these kicks.

Reportedly coming back in the "Stealth" colorway, this ninja-black design is just as impressive now as it was then.

The best part of the Jordan XX's had to be the laser-etching process the shoe underwent before it was released. The laces strap it comes equipped with features hieroglyphic designs based on Michael Jordan's life.

Rumored by SoleCollector.com's Brandon Richard for a March 2015 release, the Jordan XXs will be on everyone's list.

Air Jordan X 'Bulls over Broadway'

5 of 10

The Jordan X has been redone a bunch of a different times over the last few years. Most recently in 2014, we got the "Powder Blue and Black" back in February, which had a slight North Carolina vibe to it.

Straying away from the white-and-powder combo, Jordan brand has decided to unleash the "Bulls Over Broadway" design. Channeling their inner Chicago Bulls, these red kicks have been complemented by a black trim and a speckled grey bottom.

These special editions will be one of two profiles released for the 2015 NBA All-Star Game in New York City, per John Q. Marcelo of Complex.com.

It goes without saying that diehard fans of the Jordan Xs will be all over these the moment they hit the streets in February.

Adidas Pure Boost

6 of 10

Adidas made a serious splash in 2014 thanks to a series of high-profile collaborations; the influence of Kanye West and a new approach to design have altered the trajectory of the company for the better.

The Pure Boost may have been designed as a running shoe, but its influence has already gone beyond that. That Boost denomination has infiltrated the basketball world as well as the cosmos of high fashion.

It may not boast a Nike tag, but this shoe is marvelous nonetheless. The comfort and lightweight materials it comes equipped with make it a sneakerhead's dream.

Next year, it looks like Adidas will be launching a second generation of Pure Boosts, according to an Instagram post from designer Ibn Jasper (h/t Complex.com's John Q. Marcelo), and fans of the product can't wait for that day. Unlike Jordan brand's top releases, you usually can nab a pair of Pure Boosts without a problem.

Mix all of that goodness up, and what you have is one of the most anticipated releases of 2015.

Air Jordan IV 'Oreo'

7 of 10

The Air Jordan IV "Oreo" is slated to be part of the remastered line from Jordan brand.

With a black and white base, the Oreo model is sure to be a hit with fans of that silhouette. As a company, Jordan has done a remarkable job retouching the X-ray. It is able to produce the same core models of kicks and dress them up with fresh colorways and materials.

It's paid off for years, so why change the formula?

Those looking for a classic shoe with an updated design are going to be hot to get their hands on these. Going by the word of John Q. Marcelo from Complex.com, they will be dropping in spring of 2015.

Nike Foamposite 'Gold'

8 of 10

Nike Foamposite abusers should be in for a good year if the "Gold" version finally decides to show up in 2015.

The color of DJ Khaled's chains and New Year's Eve champagne, these all-gold Foams will blow the doors off retailers if they come to fruition.

Brandon Richard of SoleCollector.com has reported that the "early word" on these masterpieces is they will be arriving on March 1, 2015. If that turns out to be the case, now's the time to start saving. Set up a personal charity like your very own Human Fund.

It's all in the name Foamposites, so that makes it acceptable.

Air Jordan X 'Double Nickel'

9 of 10

We talked a few slides back about the Air Jordan X "Bulls over Broadway" shoe and how it should be arriving before All-Star weekend.

That's going to be a sought-after release, but it shouldn't hold a candle to the "Double Nickel" version of the Jordan X.

Blessed with the No. 45 near the top of the kicks, the "Double Nickel" is going to be crazy popular.

Scheduled to hit shelves in 2015, per KicksOnFire.com, this Jordan X design looks like it's going to trump all of the other ones we've seen in previous years.

It has that "Mike's back" and rocking-the-sin-out-of-Madison Square Garden feel to it. You know, the night he dropped 55 points in front of the great people of New York City.

I mean come on, a white base, black sole and red-lace trim is as Chicago as it gets.

This is a must-cop for any real Jordan enthusiast.

Nike Air Mag

10 of 10

The image above isn't a pair of LA Gear kicks—though grabbing those would be history. What you're looking at is perhaps the most beautiful shoe ever designed.

Besides the DeLorean, the Nike Air Mags are the most recognizable piece of culture to come out of the Back to the Future trilogy.

Understanding there's a constant thirst for nostalgia, the padrones over at Nike have decided to bring these kicks back to life.

If you recall, back in 2011 a limited run of the Air Mags were auctioned off. Prices soared, and pairs were hitting the $3,500 range early. Luckily it was all for a good cause. Proceeds from the 2011 run of the Air Mags were sent to the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

Heading Back to the Future once again, NiceKicks.com reports that the Air Mags will be returning once again in 2015.

Assuming this actually goes down, sneaker culture is going to explode. Good luck getting your hands on a pair because it's going to be madness out there.
