Blount Active vs. Bills

Sunday, Dec. 28

Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com confirmed Blount was active for Week 17:

On Friday, Marc Sessier of NFL.com reported Blount was questionable:

"

Blount -- questionable with a shoulder issue -- is one of three banged-up backs heading into New England's AFC East battle with the Bills. Fellow runner Jonas Gray has been ruled out after missing practice on Friday with an ankle injury while Shane Vereen's ankle issue has him listed as questionable.

Thursday, Dec. 25

Doug Kyed of NESN confirms Blount was been a limited participant in practice today and yesterday:

Blount Ruled Out for Week 16

Saturday, Dec. 20

The New England Patriots will be without LeGarrette Blount Sunday against the New York Jets.

Blount has been limited all week with a shoulder injury, and the team announced Saturday night he will sit out the Week 16 matchup:

As ESPN's Mike Reiss noted, this will vault rookie Jonas Gray into a bigger role:

The last time the Patriots were without Blount—Week 11, just before he signed—Gray took 37 carries for 201 yards and four touchdowns against the Indianapolis Colts.

Throw in all the other offensive weapons Tom Brady has to work with, and the Patriots offense shouldn't skip much of a beat—even without its bruising back.
