Iniesta in Lineup vs. PSG

Tuesday, April 21

Barcelona confirmed Iniesta was in the lineup vs. PSG on April 21.

Marca previously announced Iniesta's return to training:

"

After picking up a pelvis injury in Barça's Champions League win over PSG, and missing the Catalans' most-recent league game, against Valencia, midfielder Andrés Iniesta returned to first-team training today.

Iniesta joined his teammates in training with his eyes firmly set on next Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final return leg against the French side at the Camp Nou, which Barça go into with a 3-1 lead from the first leg.

"

Barcelona revealed on Thursday that Iniesta suffered pelvic bruising in the match against PSG:

"

After a series of tests, the Club’s medical services have confirmed that Andres Iniesta suffered heavy bruising in the pelvic region. Iniesta did some specific work in training after the tests on Thursday evening.

"

Iniesta previously missed a handful of matches earlier in the campaign because of a calf injury that kept him sidelined for a month. He also dealt with a minor knee ailment that caused him to miss a couple of matches of international duty with Spain.

Of course, the question that will be raised is whether the issues are simply a fluke or a sign his body may be showing signs of wear and tear. The latter wouldn't be a major surprise given all of the mileage the 30-year-old star's body has racked up over the years playing for both Barcelona and Spain.
