Mike ChiariDec 19, 2014

Cleveland Browns All-Pro offensive tackle Joe Thomas could be facing charges for potential environmental violations on his hunting land in Madison, Wisconsin.

According to The Associated Press (h/t Cleveland.com), the 30-year-old Pro Bowler has been accused of building bridges and dams as well as dredging a pond without the necessary permits.

The Wisconsin State Department of Natural Resources has also accused the former University of Wisconsin star of tearing down a barn illegally and discharging manure into a wetland.

Per the report, Thomas could face a $10,000 fine for each subsequent day he is in violation of the law.

Thomas has essentially been a model citizen since breaking into the NFL as the No. 3-overall pick in the 2007 draft. With that in mind, NFL.com's Marc Sessler joked about his previously spotless reputation:

Despite the Browns' playoff hopes fading significantly, Thomas is enjoying yet another spectacular season that should result in his eighth consecutive Pro Bowl nod.

Neither Thomas nor the Browns have commented regarding the potential violations, but his status for the remainder of the 2014 season doesn't figure to be compromised.
