High Schooler Gets Major Air, Hits His Head on Backboard While Blocking Shot

This is a situation in which having great athleticism actually worked against a player.

DeMatha Catholic (Hyattsville, Maryland) High School sophomore D.J. Harvey used his hops to get up and block his opponent's shot, and he probably has a mark to prove it.

On his head.

The 6'4" guard got high enough off the ground on the play that he ended up hitting his head on the backboard.

Photographer Brian Kapur captured the moment of impact.

Of course, this brings back memories of the time another No. 23 hit his head on the backboard while blocking a shot.

Harvey was able to joke about the painful moment on Twitter.
