
Jason Kipnis Injury: Updates on Indians Star's Finger and Recovery
Cleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis suffered a finger injury during offseason workouts that required surgery on Tuesday. It's not expected to impact his status for Opening Day 2015.

Cleveland also noted his expected availability, although it didn't provide an exact timetable for a full recovery:
After making steady progress during each of his first three seasons in the majors, Kipnis took a major step in the wrong direction in 2014. His on-base percentage plummeted more than 50 points from the previous year and he hit a career-low six home runs.
The Indians just have to hope he doesn't suffer any setbacks during his injury rehab and can return to form as a top offensive player at the position in 2015.
