WWE SmackDown: Live Results, Reaction and Analysis for December 16

Welcome to Bleacher Report's live coverage for the special live episode of SmackDown airing on December 16.

It's been an extremely busy week for WWE with NXT TakeOver: R Evolution, SmackDown, TLC and Raw, and there are still episodes of Main Event, SmackDown and the Tribute to the Troops special before it's all done.

Despite some shows and matches being criticized, it's mostly been an exciting time recently. Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns both returned, Dolph Ziggler captured the Intercontinental Championship for a fourth time, and Sami Zayn finally defeated Adrian Neville for the NXT title.

Tuesday's SmackDown will hopefully continue to build on the more intriguing storylines while delivering some top-notch wrestling. The key word there is "hopefully."

Whom will Roman Reigns fight in his first match back from injury?

How will John Cena react to Brock Lesnar's brutal attack on Monday?

Will Dolph Ziggler continue to climb up the proverbial ladder toward the top of the roster?

When will The Ascension debut on the main roster?

And lastly, will Ryback be the one who finally gives Rusev a definitive loss?
