The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday night, but the victory took a backseat to a milestone reached by Kobe Bryant during the game.

Entering the game, the Black Mamba needed nine points to pass Michael Jordan for third place on the NBA's all-time scoring list. With a pair of free throws midway through the second quarter, the Lakers star passed the Chicago Bulls legend.

Bryant led the Lakers to a 100-94 victory with 26 points.

It was all about the Black Mamba after the game, with the Lakers' team plane decorated to celebrate the milestone.

There were more than just decorations, by the way. Bryant also received a cake to mark the occasion.

On the night, Bryant passed Jordan on the all-time scoring list, earned a victory and got a cake. That's a pretty good night.
