Manchester United Transfer News: Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard Rumours Grow

Tom SunderlandDec 15, 2014

Real Madrid may have a world-class talent among their ranks in the shape of Welsh wonder Gareth Bale, but reports suggest Los Blancos are willing to sell their star in order to land Eden Hazard's talents.

A transfer triangle between Real, Manchester United and Chelsea has emerged, according to the Daily Star's Rhys Turrell, who writes that Bale could move to Old Trafford if Carlo Ancelotti can land Hazard in his place.

Turrell cites reports from France stating United are in the hunt to make a £90 million offer for Bale's services, having been interested in cutting a deal since David Moyes was at their helm.

Hazard's move could be a more difficult one to envision, however, with Jose Mourinho quoted by Kristof Terreur of Het Laatste Nieuws saying he's confident the Belgian will pen a new deal at Stamford Bridge:

It's speculated that Hazard would earn wages of £200,000 a week in west London if he were to extend his current deal, which doesn't run out until 2017.

Real aren't looking to stop there, however, and Turrell goes on to report Ancelotti's side are keeping tabs on Liverpool's Raheem Sterling, another wide talent currently caught in contract uncertainty.

Sterling has been one of Brendan Rodgers' key players this season and is seeking a higher salary if he's to prolong his Anfield stay.

Squawka CEO Sanjit Atwal clearly feels the youngster is deserving of his bump in wages, having continued to feature as one of the Reds' brighter players despite the club's recent decline:

United already signed one world-class winger from the Bernabeu this year following Angel Di Maria's £59.7 million move over the summer, but Bale's Premier League return could be a coup of different proportions.

The club's fans have already seen the Welshman thrive in the English top flight as a Tottenham talisman in the past, and so his adaptation would almost be considered a guarantee when it comes to deciding on the investment.

However, with so many dimensions to the deal, sanctioning a move would require manoeuvring around a mass of red tape. This is especially the case considering Jose Mourinho and Brendan Rodgers would undoubtedly be hesitant to the idea of selling just to help out a rival in the end.

Bale's move to La Liga has been a seamless one. Despite concerns over whether he would be a fit at the Bernabeu, the 25-year-old has thrived as a part of arguably the world's strongest team, as illustrated by Squawka:

Hazard and Sterling have also proven instrumental for their respective sides, with the former netting his side's opener in a 2-0 beating of Hull City this Saturday while suspended Cesc Fabregas missed out.

Louis van Gaal's Red Devils are finally showing they may be ready to return to the Premier League's top four after stringing together six wins in a row, their latest result being a 3-0 thrashing of Liverpool on Sunday.

While their prospects still aren't the same as that of Ancelotti's side, Bale may see the prospect of United as a stock on the rise once more.

His £90 million arrival would see Bale break the world transfer record for the second time, his £85 million switch to Spain in 2013 currently sitting as the most expensive in the sport's history.

With the funds at their disposal as a result of the sale, Real would be able to launch big-money moves for Hazard, Sterling or indeed both. However, they would assuredly need some sign of commitment from the pair before they allow one of their top talents to leave.
