LeGarrette Blount, Shane Vereen's Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 15

Bill Belichick continues to befuddle fantasy football owners searching for a dependable running back in Foxboro.    

Just when recently signed LeGarrette Blount appeared to gain full control of the New England Patriots backfield, he split snaps with Shane Vereen and Jonas Gray against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

While Vereen got the ball for a three-yard touchdown during the second quarter, Blount also pounded in a three-yard score in the ensuing period. As noted by ESPN Stats & Info, the 28-year-old has a knack for finding the end zone for New England.

Gray, who received the cold shoulder ever since his 201-yard, four-touchdown game last month, led the team in touches while running more effectively than his peers. There's no way of knowing if he'll parlay that success into an expanded Week 16 look.

Besides, the New York Jets present an unfriendly Week 16 matchup. When the AFC East foes met earlier in the year, New England ran the ball 15 times while letting Tom Brady fire 37 pass attempts.

Expect more of the same against a potent New York front seven. As a result, Blount and Gray are no more than risky flex plays next Sunday while Vereen is best reserved for deeper point-per-reception formats.
