Dwyane Wade sat out Sunday's game vs. Boston with a knee injury.
The Heat star was originally a game-time decision, via Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe, but was eventually ruled out, via A. Sherrod Blakely of CSNNE.com:
Erik Spoelstra discussed Wade's injury after Miami's 100-84 win via the team's Twitter account:
It's no secret that Wade's body is slowly breaking down on him. As that famous Converse commercial proclaimed, Wade fell down seven times and got up eight. His toughness combined with a more physical, deliberate style of play put a ton of wear and tear on his knees, and he's paying the price late in his career.
Between the 2011-12 and 2013-14 seasons, Wade missed a total of 58 games for a variety of different reasons. Last year, Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra and the Heat medical staff made a concerted effort to rest Wade during the regular season so as to keep him fresh for the playoffs.
It's unlikely that this most recent ailment is a major cause for concern. The Heat almost have to go out of their way to miss the playoffs in the Eastern Conference, and as long as Wade is healthy for the postseason, Miami fans won't be too worried about him missing a few games during the regular season.
