WWE TLC 2014: Live Stream, WWE Network Start Time and Match Card

Mike ChiariDec 14, 2014

TLC is the final pay-per-view before WWE truly kicks into high gear and enters WrestleMania season. Even so, there are enough quality matches on the card to make it an entertaining show.

There is a certain novelty factor attached to TLC due to all the stipulations involved. While they can be a bit overwhelming at times, they can just as easily turn seemingly mediocre bouts into excellent pay-per-view affairs.

WWE has a big challenge on its hands in terms of making TLC seem important with WWE World Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar once again nowhere to be found. However, that means other Superstars will have opportunities to seize the spotlight.

Top Matches to Watch

John Cena vs. Seth Rollins

With no Lesnar on the card, that means the WWE World Heavyweight Championship will not be contested. John Cena is currently next in line for a shot at The Beast Incarnate, but that will no longer be the case if he loses to Seth Rollins Sunday night in a Tables match.

Cena's status as No. 1 contender is on the line against Mr. Money in the Bank, which adds a certain amount of intrigue to what would have otherwise been a bout of little importance.

While Cena has been the top guy in WWE for more than a decade, Rollins is just now starting to reach that level. He truly shot to individual prominence as The Authority's handpicked face of the future, and it can be argued that he has become the top heel in the company.

That argument is bolstered by Rollins' third consecutive appearance in the main event of a pay-per-view. Unfortunately for Rollins, though, a victory doesn't seem likely.

In fact, Cena's promo from SmackDown, courtesy of WWE Universe, may prove to be prophetic:

Despite what Cena said, though, Rollins is most definitely ready for prime time. Whether he wins or loses, he will prove that to be true once again Sunday at TLC.

The top guys have to be able to put on strong contests with Cena, so the Tables match will be a great barometer for Rollins as WrestleMania season draws closer.

Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt

There is nothing conventional about a Tables, Ladders & Chairs match, which is why it makes all the sense in the world for Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt to settle the score in that setting.

Both Ambrose and Wyatt have shown themselves to be two of the most eccentric and intriguing characters in WWE over the course of their brief tenures on the roster. They have also had success in matches in which the rule book is thrown out the window, which is why they should put on a great show Sunday night.

This feud is predicated on the notion that Wyatt has been able to beat his previous opponents mentally. Ambrose is so sick and twisted, however, that his tactics aren't working. As evidenced by this quote courtesy of WWE Universe, The Lunatic Fringe has been defiant to say the least:

Although there are no titles on the line, this is a big match for both men, who are considered to be key components in WWE's future success.

As long as they both perform up to their potential and leave it all out in the ring, there is no reason why they won't be elevated significantly by their outing.

They didn't exactly tear the house down at Survivor Series in a normal match, but all bets are off at TLC, where they can do absolutely whatever they want.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Luke Harper

It may not have top billing attached to it, but the Intercontinental Championship Ladder match between Dolph Ziggler and Luke Harper has all the makings of a show-stealer.

Ziggler and Harper have been at odds for the past several weeks, as Harper defeated The Showoff for the title. They have had several quick matches against each other and have shown solid chemistry, but at TLC they should finally get the time they need to truly shine.

There is no doubt that Ziggler is one of the best in-ring performers in the world, and Harper isn't too far off in his own right. They are both extremely creative wrestlers as well, which is why the Ladder stipulation is so exciting to those who have followed both Superstars.

Ziggler needs to look great Sunday in order to capitalize on his recent surge, and Harper is the perfect opponent to help in that regard. As long as WWE allows Ziggler and Harper to go out there and throw caution to the wind, this will be one of WWE's best pay-per-view bouts in quite some time.
