Gerard Pique Arrives at Camp Nou Wearing Bizarre Chainmail-Style Outfit

There is an unwritten rule that states that professional footballers are permitted to have haircuts and wear clothes that would make most normal mortals look a bit silly. 

Gerard Pique tested this maxim to the limit on Wednesday evening when he arrived at the Camp Nou for Barcelona's Champions League group-stage match with Paris Saint-Germain wearing what can only be described as imitation chainmail knitwear. 

Predictably, the Spanish defender's fierce new medieval look has been lambasted by the Interweb:
