NHL Short Notes
The St. Louis Blues added some scoring to their blueline on Friday when they signed former Toronto Maple Leafs 2001 third round draft pick Brendan Bell. This 26 year-old who last season scored 6 goals and 15 assists in only 53 games has in his career scored 7 goals and 21 assists in 101 career games.
The Buffalo Sabres added some toughness up front when they signed unrestricted free agent Cody McCormack. This 26 year-old who in 2001 was selected fifth round in the entry draft by the Colorado Avalanche scored one goal and 11 assists while racking up 92 penalty minutes with the Avalanche last season. For his career this London Ontario native has produced 30 points and 250 Penalty minutes in 190 games.
In a shocking revelation made earlier this summer former Detroit Red Wings star forward Sergei Fedorov made public that a gentleman hired to manage Fedorov’s financial affairs has managed to cheat the former star out of 43 million dollars. The 39 year-old Fedorov who played last season with the Washington Capitals is in the process of taking legal action against Joseph Zada who apparently reneged on a promise to repay Fedorov 60 million last April.
