Florida State lost one of the top-rated recruits in its 2015 class when 4-star running back Johnny Frasier flipped his commitment to N.C. State, according to Ryan Bartow of 247Sports

The 'Noles now have 21 commitments, and only one from a running back—4-star rusher Jacques Patrick, who is already enrolled.

Jordan Scarlett, a 4-star back who is currently committed to Miami, is the top target who will likely see increased interest from the 'Noles down the stretch.

Florida State picked up their 21st commitment on New Year's Eve when 4-star wide receiver Da'Vante Phillips announced his commitment to the Seminoles over Miami and Auburn among others.

Phillips, who caught a touchdown pass in the 2015 Under Armour All-America Game, was teammates at Central High School with current Seminoles freshman stud running back Dalvin Cook.

He gives Jimbo Fisher's offense another big-bodied weapon who could be a threat in the red zone.

No team in the country is as hot as Florida State is on the recruiting trail, which seems to be getting the attention of other top-flight recruits who may have been off the radar earlier in the process.

According to Josh Newberg of 247Sports, interest is picking up between the 'Noles and the nation's top corner—5-star California native Iman Marshall.

Newberg notes that Marshall is likely to take an official visit to FSU in January. While Marshall has been linked to USC, FSU is a program that can't be discounted quickly given the momentum they have piled up on and off the field.

Wed, Dec. 10

FSU picked up a huge commitment on Wednesday morning when 5-star defensive end Josh Sweat announced his pledge to the Seminoles, per Josh Newberg of Noles247.

The 6'5", 240-pounder selected Florida State over Virginia Tech, Georgia, Ohio State and Oregon. He's scheduled to enroll early, which means he will head to Tallahassee next month to begin his college career.

Sweat, the nation's No. 6 overall prospect, becomes the highest-rated commitment in the 'Noles class, and he fills one of Fisher's most glaring needs along the defensive line.

Considering Sweat is an elite pass-rushing prospect, he has the ability to come in and make an instant impact for the 'Noles next season.

Tue, Dec. 9

On Wednesday, 5-star defensive end Josh Sweat, the nation's No. 6 player overall in the 2015 class, will make his commitment out of a final group that includes Florida State, Georgia, Ohio State, Oregon and Virginia Tech, according to Josh Newberg of 247Sports:

According to Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports, the Seminoles hold a slight advantage over the other programs battling for the 6'5", 240-pounder.

Defensive end is one of the most pressing needs for Fisher and his staff to meet from now until national signing day, and landing Sweat would give the 'Noles a potential impact player who will enroll at his school of choice next month.
