Real Madrid vs. Ludogorets: Goals, Highlights from Champions League Match

For the first time in his 109 Champions League outings, Cristiano Ronaldo wore the captain's armband when Ludogorets visited the Bernabeu on Tuesday (as per @Squawka). 

The Portuguese megastar rose to the responsibility from the penalty spot in the 20th minute, converting his 72nd Champions  League goal. The spot-kick was awarded when Brazilian midfielder Marcelinho handled on the line, earning him a straight red card. 

Los Blancos went 2-0 ahead over the 10-man Bulgarians seven minutes before the break, when Gareth Bale leapt like a salmon to meet a Toni Kroos corner.

It was the Welshman's second Champions League goal and his eighth this season. Earlier in the match, he also showed the kind of footwork that makes him the world's most expensive player.  

In the 79th minute, Alvaro Arbeloa made it 3-0 with another goal that the keeper was only able to get a hand on after it had crossed the line.

Twenty-year-old midfielder Alvaro Medran came on for Gareth Bale in the 83rd minute, and needed only five minutes of his first Champions League game to score a fantastic looping volley.  

The game finished 4-0, with Madrid progressing to the knockout stages with a perfect record of five wins and 12 goals.
