Vick to the Patriots

We’re in full baseball mode but we had to address the latest rumor surrounding Michael Vick. New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick was asked at practice today if the Pats were interested in his services. And you know what? We have no freaking clue what they’re thinking. Bill did his normal beat around the bush, I’m going to say everything and anything and leave you scratching your head.

“You know, I think we would consider… Well, we’re coaching the players we have on the field right now, who’s here,” he continued. “Anybody who isn’t here… is there a potential they could be here? Yeah, there probably is. We’re coaching 80 players that are here. Until we get somebody else, we’re coaching them. If we get somebody else in here, which I’m sure we will, we’ll coach them. Who that’s going to be… right now, it’s 80 players who are here.”

What the hell is all that nonsense he said? One second they’ll consider, the next they aren’t. Then a couple seconds later admits they could bring in more players, but then another second later says this is our team.

Good old Belichick, he holds his cards tight and doesn’t let anyone know what he’s actually thinking.

In reality, the Patriots were and still are the perfect destination for Vick. He’d open up that offense even more with the things he’d be able to do off the bench, as well as being a superb backup should Tom Brady have a setback.

The question still is this, Can Vick turn down the UFL money?? Reports are they’re offering $1.5 to $2 million for six games. At that price, I’d go take the money and get myself back into game shape. After that its back to the NFL where he belongs.

Shoot, the UFL season ends Thanksgiving weekend, he might even be able to catch on with a cellar dweller for the month of December and get some early reps with his new team.
