Chelsea Transfer News: Latest on Sami Khedira, Paul Pogba, More
The January transfer window is fast approaching, and while Chelsea don't have the need to add significant numbers to the squad that has dominated the 2014-15 Premier League campaign so far, it would be a surprise if the Blues went an entire window without making at least a handful of moves.
Jose Mourinho's squad is young and talented, but it never hurts to add depth, veteran presence and young talent with an eye on the future. According to the latest reports, the Blues are trying to do just that, so let's have a look at who is being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Sami Khedira

Real Madrid's Sami Khedira will be a free agent in June if he doesn't sign a new deal with Los Blancos, and Chelsea could open negotiations regarding a contract in January. The Daily Express' Anthony Chapman believes Mourinho might already be too late, however.
According to Chapman, Real are talking with Borussia Dortmund about a potential swap deal that would see Khedira move back to Germany and wanted man Marco Reus make the move in the opposite direction.
One of the most sought-after players in the market, Reus is expected to leave Die Schwarzgelben in the not-too-distant future, and if the club could receive an excellent player like Khedira in return, it would help soften the blow of the departure of the team's biggest asset.
It would also bring an end to Chelsea's chances of landing Khedira, whom Bleacher Report's Ryan Bailey and Garry Hayes see as one of the Blues' top transfer targets based on need and fit:
Convincing Khedira to join the club as a depth player won't be easy, however, and he likely won't be pushing Nemanja Matic for the starting position anytime soon. Dortmund and Arsenal are far more appealing destinations on paper, at least, so don't expect the Germany international to join anytime soon.
Paul Pogba

The Daily Star's Bruce Archer believes Manchester City are preparing a massive summer offer for Juventus' Paul Pogba despite the youngster signing a new contract with the Italian champions just weeks ago.
Calciomercato.it believes the two clubs are already talking about the 21-year-old midfielder while the Citizens have met with agent Mino Raiola to discuss a potential transfer.
Archer names Chelsea and Manchester United as clubs vying for Pogba's signature, but the fact he signed a new contract in November is something both he and Calciomercato.it appear to gloss over. As shared by Football Italia, he sounded keen to continue his career in Turin when he put pen to paper:
Juventus also aren't in the business of selling their top players, something they haven't done in years, via Gianluca Di Marzio's David Amoyal:
There's little doubt the talented France international would make just about any team in the world better, including Chelsea, but after committing his future to the Bianconeri, a transfer is highly unlikely.
Andrej Kramaric

Croatia international Andrej Kramaric has reportedly turned down an offer from Leicester City, as he wants to play for a bigger club, according to Tuttomercatoweb (h/t Forza Italian Football's Marco Credentino).
The Rijeka ace has been linked with a move to the Foxes for weeks, with the club reportedly bidding €11 million for the 23-year-old, a sum well exceeding his release clause, according to the Sunday Times' Duncan Castles:
Chelsea are also interested in the forward, via GianlucaDiMarzio.com's Charles Ducksbury, and Kramaric's message that he's not interested in a move to the bottom of the standings hints at a preference for the Blues.
A fee of €11 million is a relatively small one for a talented striker with an incredible scoring record—Credentino claims he has scored 26 goals in his past 23 matches. And if Castles is right and his buyout clause is just €2 million, there's a very real chance he'll be making the move to London next month.
