Cason spent the first five years of his career with the San Diego Chargers, but signed a one-year deal with Arizona in 2013. After playing well with the Cardinals, the veteran joined the Panthers on a one-year deal, but was cut on December 2, according to Josh Alper of ProFootballTalk.com.

In 12 games this season, Cason has 58 combined tackles, four forced fumbles and two interceptions. Baltimore lost nickel cornerback Danny Gorrer for the season with a knee injury in Sunday's win over Miami, via Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun, and the Ravens must add talent to the depleted lineup.

Baltimore currently holds a 8-5 record and is second in the AFC North. With the NFL postseason approaching fast, Cason will give the Ravens veteran leadership in the secondary and another body that will be reliable in coverage.
