WWE TLC 2014: Most Likely Heel and Face Turns at the Event

Sharon GlencrossDec 9, 2014

Don't be too surprised if WWE writers book a few surprise heel and face turns at TLC—the company very well may decide to seize the opportunity to shock fans and shake things up as it closes out the year and heads into 2015.

Dolph Ziggler

This is a deeply intriguing possibility. Ziggler could be so desperate to get his Intercontinental Championship back, he could turn heel on Sunday night in his ladder match against Luke Harper.

While the star is an OK good guy, he can be a little on the bland side sometimes. And with babyfaces John Cena, Dean Ambrose, Randy Orton and Roman Reigns all positioned near or at the top of the card, it's going to be tough for him to get a major main event spot in the future.

As well as being a better and more well-rounded character as a heel, there are simply more opportunities for Ziggler as a bad guy. Notably, he could have a program with former friend Cena.

Naomi

The Miz has been flirting with WWE Diva Naomi on television over the past couple of weeks and promising to help her achieve huge success in Hollywood—much to the chagrin of her husband, Jimmy Uso. He's definitely not happy with Miz hanging around his spouse so much. (You have to wonder what Miz's wife, Maryse, thinks of all this too.)

No doubt these tensions will boil over big time at TLC when Miz and Damien Mizdow defend their tag team belts against the Uso brothers.

Naomi turning on her man, costing him the match and joining with the heels sounds like an interesting idea. It would inject a great deal of passion and surprise into this rivalry—and help put Naomi on the map once and for all. The Diva has been woefully marginalized for much of her WWE run. A high-profile stint as an evil heel manager could be just what her career needs right now.

Brie Bella

Brie Bella turned back heel at Survivor Series and cost AJ Lee the Divas Championship for, well, no real reason. WWE hasn't even offered a decent explanation as to how the Bella siblings went from hating each other with a passion to totally patching things up. (Did Daniel Bryan give them Dr. Shelby's number, perhaps?)

You could suggest it's just bad writing. Maybe. Of course, it's also possible Brie's heel turn isn't meant to be wholly convincing and wasn't intended to last long, hence the lack of explanation.

She may very well shock the world and turn back babyface on Sunday, helping Lee win the title from Nikki. Brie could later say that she and her husband came up with the whole scheme to trick her sister and make her feel incredibly foolish—a fitting revenge for Nikki's severe emotional abuse over the last several months.
