LeBron James Meets Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, Breaks Royal Protocol

LeBron James met the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge after they watched the Cleveland Cavaliers take on the Brooklyn Nets on Monday night, but he broke royal etiquette when he put an arm around Kate Middleton.

King James was criticised for being too touchy-feely by etiquette expert William Hanson. As the Daily Mail quotes him:

Although I am sure the Duchess of Cambridge won’t have worried about it, Mr James should not have put his arm around her.

Americans are much more tactile than we Brits and this is another example of an American being too touchy feely with British royalty. You’d have think they’d have learned by now.

A shower would have been preferable but he had just finished a game – so even more reason for him not have opened his pits by lifting his arm and placing it around Her Royal Highness!

That said, LeBron came through with a top for Prince George (not a bad piece of memorabilia), and there were some pretty unique pictures to add to the James and Windsor family albums.
