Is It Over For The Manchurian Candidate?
Once upon a dreary nightmare called the Cleveland Browns 2008 NFL season, Joe Thomas and Brady Quinn took time out from their losing ways to attend John McCain rallies. Birds of a Feather: Sports and politics, not as deadly as some, but just as destructive.
It would seem that everything former General Manager Phil Savage did was to try to undermine and eventually to get rid of Head Coach Romeo Crennel. Unfortunately for Phil Savage, "friendly fire" got him as well, as he shot off his big toe, and rightly got fired first !
Karma is a bitch......

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
So what about his draft picks? Well most of them have seen the inside of Romeo's doghouse, and Quinn was let out to appease the fans. Only LT Joe Thomas and OLB Kamerion Wimbley has made an impact of any significance during their rookie years, and ILB D'Q "Dairy Queen" Jackson is getting run over like the highway roadkill, whilst others have barely shown flashes.
So what of QB extraordinaire and Browns' up-to-moment franchise saviour, Brady Quinn "Medicine Woman"?
Let see to opininions of writers on Quinn's performance in the 2009 Training Camp:
"Brady Quinn failed to score in his two-minute drill after throwing behind a wide-open Lance Leggett, but Anderson was successful in his, hitting Josh Cribbs on a quick slant for a TD."
On Sunday, Anderson appeared to make better passes than Quinn during practice. Mangini said the twosome came into camp in a dead heat for the starting job.
The only good report about Quinn:
"Brady Quinn was the first quarterback to run the first team the first time the Browns lined up in 11-on-11s. Head Coach Eric Mangini said both Quinn and Derek Anderson “will get an equal amount of reps equally distributed through the different sessions.” Quinn seemed sharper in the morning practice than he was in the spring, when he didn’t seem sharp at all."
Steve Doerschuk writes that Quinn "didnt look sharp" in the spring? How can the QB battle be even when Quinn didnt even look good coming into Training Camp.
Is the QB battle over and Mangini is only trying to elevate the value of the Manchurian candidate?
