Arsenal Are Contenders

With all the talks about Manchester City breaking into the top four this year, everyone assumes that Arsenal are the team to drop off. My opinion might be affected because I am a big fan and I will always defend them no matter what, but i would have to completely disagree with this statement. 

I actually feel that Arsenal can contend for the title this year, maybe not win it but they will be there till the end and just maybe they can win it. Last year, I knew we had no shot, you just sensed it wasn't our year. This year my perspective is that we will be a force in the EPL. There are several things that contribute to my opinion.

One thing is the fact that we have Arshavin for a full year. I had seen him play before, but I had never thought he was this good. It seems that he finishes every time he has a chance, and his vision and passing is world class. I rate him as a top 10 player in the world. As soon as he came to Arsenal, we changed into a much better team.

He is not the only reason, Fabregas is another reason. Fabregas has looked amazing in pre-season. His passing and overall play seems to have returned. Not that it ever left, but last year with injuries it took him awhile to get into game-mode. 

The fact that we have Rosicky and Eduardo back is very important. These two guys are excellent players. Eduardo might just be the best finisher in the EPL and Rosicky has experience and is also very talented.

Arsenal, as a result, are loaded in the midfield. Walcott, Nasri, or even Rosicky will have to play on the bench when all midfield players are healthy. Having a guy like Walcott, Nasri, or Rosicky on the bench just shows how good we are.

As for strikers, we are fine. Van persie, Eduardo, Bentdner, Vela, and Simpson are more than enough.

Our defense will do fine and Song can hold his own in defensive mid. He showed that last year. Wenger will sign one more defensive player before the season ends and we will be well equipped for the season and a title push.

We have looked great in pre-season...Wilshere looks amazing as does Eduardo and Fabregas and of course Arshavin as well.

My prediction is either second or first...with either us or Chelsea winning it...what do you guys think?
