Milan Transfer News and Rumours Tracker: Week of December 8

Anthony LopopoloDec 8, 2014

Around this time of year, just before winter, the rumours from summer creep back into play, the unfinished business of a few months ago back on the table.

Ezequiel Lavezzi was a target for many teams in July and August, including AC Milan. He has since continued to play a bit-part role with his current club, Paris Saint-Germain, but he would most certainly start elsewhere, including at Milan.

And now the two parties are linked together again in the press.

Let's take a look at the rest of this week's rumours.

Diamanti Back to Italy?

1 of 3

Current Chinese Super League champions Guangzhou Evergrande are very Italian. Fabio Cannavaro is their coach, and Alberto Gilardino and Alessandro Diamanti are their star players.

But both Gilardino and Diamanti have lost their places in the Italian national team, and both could make a return to Italy.

The destination of choice for Diamanti could very well be Milan, according to Sky Sport Italia, via Football Italia.

Diamanti left Bologna for China in February, but the coach who brought him there, Marcello Lippi, has since retired.

The rumour is peculiar, as Milan don't play with a trequartista, and the trequartista that they do have, Keisuke Honda, is already playing on the wing.

Lavezzi Prefers Milan

The move to PSG has not really worked out for Lavezzi.

Enter Milan.

The Rossoneri claimed two PSG castoffs in the summer (Alex and Jeremy Menez), and a third is not out of the question.

According to Radio Gol, via Calcio Mercato, the 29-year-old prefers Milan to Inter and even former club Napoli

Lavezzi is a versatile forward, and he would likely relegate Menez or even Stephan El Shaarawy to the bench.

Milan Find a Gem in Ukraine

3 of 3

Milan have found talent in eastern Europe before: Dejan Savicevic, Zvonimir Boban and Andriy Shevchenko.

Now they seem to have an agreement with 22-year-old Marcelo Brozovic from Dinamo Zagreb.

According to Calcio Mercato, the Croatian club currently value their player at around €8 million, but reports indicate he is still Milan's No. 1 January transfer target.

Milan's initial offer weighs in at around €4 million, according to Football Italia, which was rejected.

The alternative is Daniele Baselli, the 22-year-old central midfielder who has impressed for Atalanta
