Newcastle Make Mark Schwarzer Inquiry
1 of 2
With Petr Cech and Thibaut Courtois in front of him, Mark Schwarzer knew he wouldn't be seeing much playing time in his second season at Chelsea.
The Australian could be thrown a life line by Newcastle United, though, who are reportedly chasing him after suffering an injury crisis with their goalkeepers.
Tim Krul is out until the new year, and replacement Rob Elliot was injured this weekend while in action against Chelsea.
It meant inexperienced 21-year-old Jak Alnwick played the final 45 minutes, as Alan Pardew's team inflicted a first defeat of the season on the Blues.
The Sun (subscription required) reports Pardew is eager to bring Schwarzer to St. James' Park to help his team through their plight.
Mohamed Salah Top of Inter Milan's Shopping List
2 of 2
Roberto Mancini recently returned to Inter Milan as manager and is reportedly chasing a host of Premier League stars to bolster his squad.
Top of his list, according to the Daily Star, is Chelsea's Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian is reportedly growing frustrated at a lack of opportunities this season and may well be forced to leave Stamford Bridge in the pursuit of first-team football.
Inter are eager to bring him to the San Siro, but according to the Daily Star, Jose Mourinho could block the move as the Chelsea boss doesn't want to lose any players in January.
