Fauria Aggravated Ankle Injury

Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports that Joseph Fauria is dealing with the same ankle injury that the tight end suffered earlier in the season:

"

The Detroit Lions tight end aggravated the left ankle injury that caused him to miss six games earlier this year on his first catch in Sunday's first quarter.

Fauria returned later in the first half with a heavily taped shoe, but he played just 12 snaps on the day and was in visible pain after the game in the locker room.

"We'll kind of see what's going to happen with him," Lions coach Jim Caldwell said at his press conference today. "There's a few guys that always after a ballgame are a little worse for wear, but we'll see after the next couple of days or so."

"

It's a tough break for Fauria, who had caught his first touchdown pass of the season against the Bucs. Injuries have plagued the UCLA product this season, limiting him to only seven games played thus far in 2014. The 24-year-old exploded onto the scene as a rookie last year by catching seven touchdowns passes for the Lions.

Fauria Leaves Stadium in Walking Boot

The Detroit Lions got a big win against Tampa Bay in Week 14 to improve their record to 9-5, but the celebration will be short lived because of an injury to tight end Joseph Fauria

According to Josh Katzenstein of The Detroit News, Fauria's leg was in a walking boot in the locker room after the game:

Fauria hasn't had a huge presence in Detroit's offense this season due to injuries, which have caused him to miss six games. He only had four receptions coming into Week 14 but had two against the Buccaneers, including a 10-yard touchdown catch that put the Lions up 27-10 in the third quarter.
