Le'Veon Bell, Antonio Brown, Ben Roethlisberger's Post-Week 14 Fantasy Reaction

Tyler ConwayDec 7, 2014

There was once a time when AFC North rivalries were defined by grind-it-out defensive slogs that were death to fantasy owners everywhere. That is no longer the case.

Ben Roethlisberger and Le'Veon Bell each had three touchdowns as the Pittsburgh Steelers earned a critical 42-21 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. Pittsburgh is now one game behind Cincinnati in the loss column for the AFC North lead, but that matters not for these purposes.

The total offensive onslaught the Steelers put on, though, does. Roethlisberger added 350 passing yards to his three scores, including a 94-yard bomb to Martavis Bryant in the fourth quarter. The Steelers signal-caller also hit Heath Miller from one yard out in the second quarter and was responsible for Bell's first score in the third.

The only major pass-catcher to not finish with a touchdown was Antonio Brown, who still turned in a fine day with nine receptions for 119 yards. Brown has not had fewer than eight receptions since an Oct. 12 loss to the Cleveland Browns. (He had seven.)

Bell, in the midst of a breakout 2014 campaign, continued to trample over opposing defenses. The former Michigan State star rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns, including a 53-yard scamper that's his second biggest of the season. He added 50 yards and six grabs through the air, giving him his third straight game with more than 200 total yards.

While oft-maligned early in his Steelers career, offensive coordinator Todd Haley's become a godsend for fantasy owners. Bell and Brown are among the very best players at their respective positions, and Roethlisberger has become a fantasy stud after being considered a mid-tier QB2 coming into 2014. His three touchdowns on Sunday put him just three away from tying a career-high, and he's already eclipsed his touchdown total from a year ago.

With a matchup in Atlanta next week, the Steelers should continue pushing you through your fantasy playoffs. Start Bell, start Brown, start Ben and even start Martavis if you're feeling frisky. There's nothing negative to say in Pittsburgh at the moment.
