Puig reveled in the news on Instagram, saying, "Excited to be on the cover of @MLBtheShow! Two things I love: Baseball and Video Games."

Over the years, the MLB: The Show series has grown into the most popular and critically acclaimed baseball video game franchise. Past editions have featured some of the biggest stars in the game, including former MVPs Miguel Cabrera, Andrew McCutchen, Dustin Pedroia, Ryan Howard and Joe Mauer.

On Metacritic, MLB 14: The Show holds a score of 83 out of 100. It was the first game to transition over to the next-gen video game consoles.

Since the developers will have more time and experience to build a game for the PlayStation 4, expectations will be high for MLB 15: The Show.
