Besides for Nick, Janis is survived by daughters Cara, Lisa and a son in Marcus who experienced the thrill recently of being drafted by the Buffalo Sabres.
Scottie Upshall To Remain A Phoenix Coyote
After setting career highs in scoring with 34 points last season the Phoenix Coyotes have offered 25 year-old forward Scottie Upshall a one year contract for 1.5 million dollars. This former 2002 Nashville Predators first round draft pick came to Phoenix at the trade deadline last March and impressed by scoring 13 points in 19 games. Upshall who was traded from the Philadelphia Flyers for Daniel Carcillo is expected to play a big part in the Coyotes future success. “We are excited to have signed Scottie Upshall to a new contract,” Phoenix general manager Don Maloney said. “He performed exceptionally well for us last season after we acquired him from Philadelphia and we expect him to be an important player for us next season.”
