Brandon Beachy Rumors: Latest Buzz and Speculation Surrounding Pitcher

Tim KeeneyDec 4, 2014

It doesn't appear it will take Brandon Beachy long to find a new MLB home.

Just days after being non-tendered by the Atlanta Braves, the new free agent is drawing interest from at least one-third of the league, according to sources cited by Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish:

Once considered a rising star in the Braves starting rotation, Beachy has undergone two Tommy John surgeries in the last three years, with the most recent forcing him to miss all of the 2014 MLB campaign.

As Rotoworld's D.J. Short noted, the 28-year-old has spent very little time on the mound recently:

Still, if Beachy gets an MLB deal, it's likely going to be of the one-year, "prove-it" variety. And that small risk may be worth it.

Returning from two major elbow surgeries is a Kilimanjaro-sized mountain to climb, but after his first surgery, Beachy showcased the control in 2013 (1.033 WHIP, 1.2 BB/9) to suggest he can still be effective.

There is potential value for whoever inks the righty.
