Victor Martinez: Boston Debut
Just before the July 31 Major League Baseball trading deadline the Boston Red Sox landed All-Star Victor Martinez from the Indians in return for Justin Masterson, Bryan Price, and Nick Hagadone.
V-Mart arrived in Baltimore today just in time for his Boston debut and looked in impress fans, management, and the media.
Victor spoke with the media before his big debut:"I'm pretty excited. Until today, I never thought that I would play for a team like this". Victor also added "This is a new team, a new organization. I'm not going to try to do too much; I'm just going to play my game and see what happens.".

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Victor got a chance to make an impact and a chance to "see what happens" when Red Sox Manager, Terry Francona, decided to place Martinez at first base and batting third in the line-up.
Martinez was 0-2 entering the 6th inning with Boston having two runs and Baltimore having none thanks to the lights-out performance from Josh Beckett.
Martinez came through in a big way hitting an RBI single, off of Baltimore's Mark Hendrickson, driving in Ellsbury. Martinez hit a rocket line drive into center and pleased many with his first RBI as a Red Sox.
V-Mart had a pretty impressive debut for the Sox going 1-5 with an RBI.
Boston not finishing in first place in the AL East will be a disappointment because of their much talented line-up with three first-base men, Martinez, Youkilis, Kotchman, and they all could be starters on most teams through the league.
It's going to be up Francona to shuffle the players around the right amount to keep everyone fresh and pleased with their role and playing time for the next 2 months.
It seems to me that the Red Sox are now the New England Patriots of Major League Baseball. They have an All-Star pitching rotation and just about every position on the team has an All-Star playing it.
Going un-defeated won't happen, but a World Series championship is certainly in sight.
