Kobe Bryant, the NBA's leading scorer coming into Tuesday's game, was held scoreless in the first half, but teammate Jordan Hill picked up the slack with 22 points and 13 rebounds on the night as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Detroit Pistons 106-96 at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

Bryant scored all 12 of his points in the decisive third quarter, as the Lakers improved to 5-13. Josh Smith put up 18 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and three steals for the 3-15 Pistons.
