Oxlade-Chamberlain an Injury Doubt
Arsenal could be without Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for their upcoming Premier League clash with Southampton. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger confirmed the news in his pre-game press conference:
The England international came on as a substitute during Arsenal's 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion in their last Premier League outing, but some bustling displays this season have seen him become a much more regular starter for the Emirates outfit.
His omission would be an undeniable blow for the Gunners when tackling high-flying Saints—the club at which Oxlade-Chamberlain began his footballing education—but fortunately for the Emirates faithful, Arsenal are well stocked in the attacking midfield positions.

Alexis Sanchez and Santi Cazorla look likely to occupy two of the three advanced midfield positions. If Oxlade-Chamberlain is unable to feature, it could pave the way for a long-awaited start for another former Southampton man Theo Walcott, but it's unclear just how fit he is after a sustained injury layoff. Alternatively, Wenger could use Danny Welbeck in a wide berth as he did against the Baggies.
