Barcelona Newspaper Claims the Team Will Wear Horizontal Stripes Next Season

Barcelona's shirt is one of the most iconic in world football, but it could be about to undergo a major change next season. 

According to Catalan newspaper Sport, the club's iconic scarlet and blue stripes are going to be flipped 90 degrees next season.

Sport describe it as a “revolution” with the horizontal stripes the first time in Barcelona’s 115 history that they will have worn these type of shirts.

At no time have Barcelona ever worn four horizontal lines on their home shirt.

The away shirt will again be in the colours of the Catalan flag.

While the new home kit cannot be confirmed, it is unlikely that Sport is going for a headline grab. 

The paper is known to be pro-Barcelona and was even publicly congratulated by the club just last month for covering the team for the past 35 years.
