Younis Khan: World Cricket's Batsman of the Month, November 2014

Chris TealeDec 1, 2014

After some sterling performances in Tests this month, the evergreen Pakistani Younis Khan is our batsman of the month for November 2014.

The 37-year-old has belied his advancing years to turn in some vintage performances for his country against Australia and New Zealand, all in the United Arab Emirates.

It is form that has seen him regain his place in the Pakistan one-day international squad, just two months after he criticised the selectors for dropping him.

He started the month in fine fettle, coming off straight hundreds against Australia at the end of October and plundering a double century, the fifth of his Test career.

In the following game against the New Zealanders, he hit an unbeaten century, and has followed that up with a number of strong performances with the bat.

It has been of enormous help to Pakistan, who have won three and drawn one Test this month, profiting on the advantage they have in UAE.

He will be hoping to continue his strong run this month, as the Pakistanis have a five-match ODI series against the Black Caps to round off a very encouraging 2014.
