Bayern Munich Transfer News and Rumours Tracker: Week of December 1

Stefan BienkowskiDec 1, 2014

Bayern Munich continued their smooth, steady domination of German football at the weekend with a comprehensive 1-0 win over Hertha Berlin in the nation's capital on Saturday afternoon.

Pep Guardiola's side may have dropped points to Manchester City—in a game of little significance to the Bavarian club—but they still look set to be challenging in all three competitions after the winter break.

The pause in the midseason offers the promise of another challenge for Bayern, the January transfer window, and all the rumours and stories that come with it.

Here's what this week's media has to offer the German giants.

With little talk surrounding Bayern's players of late, the newspapers have instead turned to the manager himself and are speculating on his own future in Munich.

Guardiola initially signed up to a three-year deal at the club, meaning his time in Germany will run out following next season, and that is something club chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is desperate to fix.

"He is the best coach that could have happened to Bayern Munich," the former Bayern forward was quoted saying in the Manchester Evening News on November 30.

"I know him. He’s not the sort of person who wants to extend his contract early or values a long-term deal."

Linked with Manchester City, whose own Manuel Pellegrini could leave after his contract expires next season, Bayern could face some competition for their own manager's signature in the near future.
