The Cardinals received some unfortunate news in the injury department during Sunday’s Week 13 game against the Atlanta Falcons. Darren Urban of AZCardinals.com and the Arizona Cardinals provided updates on Mathieu’s health:

After the team's 29-18 loss, the team provided an update: 

Mathieu had three tackles, including one tackle for a loss, in the early going for the Cardinals before leaving with the injury.      

The Cardinals will need Rashad Johnson and Tony Jefferson to step up in Mathieu’s absence.

Mathieu, 22, entered Week 13 with 26 tackles and an interception on the season and is an integral part of the Arizona secondary, which has been stingy this year.
