Mathews pulled the Chargers within 23-20 with his touchdown run in the final stanza, but Flacco's lunge into the end zone from a yard out put the Ravens back on top by 10. Rivers lobbed a pass to Allen's back shoulder, which he snagged for a 23-yard score, and Justin Tucker notched his fourth field goal—a 31-yarder—for a 33-27 advantage with 2:22 left.
San Diego moved the ball down to the Baltimore 24-yard line, and a pass interference penalty on Anthony Levine helped set up Royal's touchdown from a yard out on a screen pass. The Ravens took their final timeout after a 15-yard completion to Kamar Aiken, who added a 24-yard grab to move within Tucker's kicking range, but Aiken failed to get out of bounds and the clock expired.
