Odell Beckham Jr. Will Stay Hot Against Jaguars in Week 13

Brian MaziqueNov 29, 2014

Odell Beckham Jr. is not done delivering impressive performances. During Week 12, Beckham blew up social media with one of the most amazing catches you'll ever see. The catch was good enough to get OBJ a 99 spectacular-catch rating in Madden NFL 15, per EA Sports Madden NFL:

He also delighted fantasy football owners with 10 catches for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Over the last four games of the season, OBJ is averaging 7.75 receptions and 125.75 yards. Draft Kings players will notice that he is listed at a salary of $6,800.

That will prove to be a bargain.

With an injured Victor Cruz out for the season with a torn patellar tendon, OBJ has stepped up in a major way. With five games left in the season, the rookie wide receiver is just 391 yards short of a 1,000-yard season. He's only had two touchdown catches during his current run, but that may be purely circumstantial.

The 22-year-old is nursing a back injury he suffered in the team's Week 12 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Per NFL.com, OBJ is listed as probable after having full participation in the G-Men's final practice of the week.

He's clearly one of the hottest receivers in the league. With a Week 13 matchup against the defensively challenged Jacksonville Jaguars on the horizon, there's no reason to believe OBJ will slow down.

He's shown the penchant for making big plays down the field. During his hot streak, Beckham has receptions of 59, 44, 37 and 43 yards. The speed and dexterity to make catches downfield makes OBJ a dangerous threat against the Jags.

Jacksonville comes into the game ranked 27th in the NFL in passing yards allowed per game. Jacksonville has given up eight touchdown passes of 20 or more yards. Speedsters like the Indianapolis Colts T.Y. Hilton have had big games against the Jags.

OBJ has a similar skill set. It would be surprising if he doesn't generate another 100-yard receiving performance. Fantasy owners can't go wrong with the rookie in their starting lineup.
