Conte Leaves Week 13 With Eye Injury
Chris Conte suffered an eye injury during a Week 13 match up against the Lions.
He was tested for a third concussion of the season after a collision with Calvin Johnson, but thankfully it was determined he did not suffer a concussion.
The team's official Twitter feed confirmed the news:
Obviously, this is an encouraging development, as the 25-year-old suffered his second concussion in October. Had Conte suffered a third concussion, there would have been major concerns about his long-term health, though it is likely some will suggest those concerns should be raised already.
For as long as Conte is sidelined, rookie Brock Vereen will fill in at safety.
