Liverpool Transfer News and Rumours Tracker: Week of November 24

Max MuntonNov 24, 2014

It's all doom and gloom around Liverpool Football Club at the moment after a sixth Premier League defeat of the season on Sunday at Crystal Palace.

Such is the misery in the red half of Merseyside that even Brendan Rodgers is beginning to feel the pressure on his job, as per the Press Association (via This Is Anfield).

Liverpool simply look like lost souls without the spark and creativity of Luis Suarez and the injured Daniel Sturridge, and with the defensive leak very much pouring, problems are mounting at Anfield.

But having spent £117 million on new players in the summer, how much will Liverpool's owners afford to Rodgers to save the season when the January transfer window gets underway in just over a month's time?

Here, we round up the latest Liverpool transfer speculation and will keep this page updated throughout the week as new rumours begin to emerge.

Jurgen Klopp

The Daily Express' Anthony Chapman may be jumping the gun a bit in suggesting Liverpool are lining up Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp to replace Rodgers in the near future.

Should Rodgers' position become untenable, it would inevitably lead to another big shakeup at the club and dictate a change in transfer policy.

While Klopp has done wonders in his time at Dortmundjust as Rodgers has done at Liverpoolhis methods are arguably becoming undone—just like the position the Reds find themselves in now.

Dortmund sit 16th in the Bundesliga table after 12 games.

Petr Cech

Another uninspiring performance from Simon Mignolet in Liverpool's goal against Crystal Palace on Sunday provoked nostalgia for Pepe Reina and more frustration with the Belgian goalkeeper.

Marc Williams of the Daily Star suggests Liverpool are keen to sign second-choice Chelsea stopper Petr Cech.

The 32-year-old was ousted from his position in the Blues lineup by Thibaut Courtois this season, but will Jose Mourinho really sell such an outstanding talent to a Premier League rival?

Saido Berahino

With Sturridge plagued with injury problems this season, £16 million summer signing Mario Balotelli yet to really get off the mark and Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini struggling to make an impact in Liverpool's attack, the Daily Mirror's John Cross says Rodgers has his eye on West Bromwich Albion's Saido Berahino.

The 21-year-old has scored eight goals for the Baggies in all competitions this season and recently broke into Roy Hodgson's senior England squad.

Nevertheless, Berahino's much-hyped potential will come with a hefty transfer fee and will be seen as a risk should Liverpool's interest be true.
